Turn AI into action across Automattic products with MCP
Use AI to publish, analyze, and create across WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Beeper, and more.
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that enables AI agents to interact with external systems through a unified interface. Instead of building one-off integrations, MCP provides a standardized way for AI to work across platforms with:
Universal compatibility
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible AI client.
Granular permissions
Control exactly which data and actions each agent can access.
A future-ready foundation
Uses an open protocol, ensuring support for future AI clients and tools.
Why Automattic + MCP?
Automattic is bringing MCP to the tools millions already use to publish, sell, and share online. That means AI can do more than just chat—it can perform meaningful actions inside Automattic’s products, right from your favorite AI agent.
Because Automattic’s products are deeply connected, MCP opens the door to richer workflows by helping AI work across Automattic’s ecosystem, not just inside one app.
Here’s how MCP supercharges your AI
MCP looks different in every Automattic product. With it, you can use AI for reporting, creating, management, and so much more.
WordPress.com
Enable seamless, AI-powered interactions with your site content. Search posts, run reports, and explore media, all through natural conversations with your AI agent.

Beeper
Access and search your chat history across all networks, locally and privately.
Clay
Search your contact network, add people, take notes, and analyze relationships through AI conversations.
Day One
Engage in natural conversations about your memories, conduct semantic searches across years of entries, and effortlessly create new entries through conversational interfaces.

Any questions?
We have answers.
Which AI agents can I use?
Any AI client that supports MCP—including Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor.
Do I need a separate setup for each product?
Yes. Each Automattic product has its own MCP implementation and documentation, so you can connect only the products you need.
How secure is MCP?
MCP uses permission-based access controls. You explicitly approve what data and actions each AI agent can access. However, capabilities vary by implementation. Some offer read-only access while others allow create/update/delete operations. Review each product’s documentation carefully before connecting.
Which Automattic products support MCP today?
WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Beeper, Clay…with more to come.
